E23 vs E23h - What's the difference?
Last Updated 5/22/2008
Not all lamps are built the same, and the quick answer to the difference between E23 and E23h is that E23h uses a 15,000 volt pre-charge. The "h" in E23h simply means "high pre-charge." Older lamps used a 5kv pre-charge. All the newer types of television lamps use higher pre-charge to "jump start" the lamp. After the lamp is ignited, the voltage drops. Most lamp types, whether eliptical or parabolic, now use a 15kv pre-charge. This makes a difference in both the life of the lamp, and wether the lamp will work at all in your television. Please be sure to ask your customer service representative if you have any questions!
