Lamp Replacment - Done by a GIRL!!! |

Really easy. The Lamp arrived within 5 days, packaged very well. I read the directions, wore plastic gloves, used a regular screw driver, an electric screwdriver, and hex wrench . I removed the screws in back of the TV each side, at bottom. popped off the front lower cover. Removed the lamp cover, and 2 screws with hex wrench and carefully slide out the old lamp. I carefully vacuumed out dust,slide in the new lamp, tightened the hex screws and the one large screw, popped in the bottom cover to the front of the TV. tightened the screws back of TV, each side lower bottom. plugged in the TV and WOW... I was watching my TV again!! I don't write reviews... but this was great and saved me alot of money.

Great Experience |

I normally do not write reviews, however my experience with DM has cause me to make sure others experience the speed and great price that I have. Bulb blew on a Tuesday and by Thursday I had a brand new Sony XL-2100U installed. The screen is brand new!

Hi,
Last week the lamp in our Sony KF-WE42 burned out so I contacted the local Sony Service Center. The price they quoted was more than double the market price, with a 5 days lead time.
I found the Discount-Merchant site on Google. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that their ordering form includes an instant shipping quote feature for anywhere in the world, including Dubai.
I have placed the order on Sunday, Feb 21, 2010 and received an order confirmation instantly on E-Mail.
On Monday my order shipped by FedEx and on Thursday morning, four working days after I placed the order – I received the Original Sony Module with original Philips lamp inside. Upon installation it fired up just fine and my 1 year old son is happy again watching his favorite Baby Einstein movies.

After 4 1/2 years, my Lamp finally burnt out. I selected the Phillips which has a 6000 hrs life, and is the same as the orig. I ordered this late Thurs night, and received it by USPS Std 2-4 day ship on Mon. I also had a discount code fiveoff, for a $5.00 discount.
I have a Sony WEGA KDF-42WE655. There are two thumb screws, one on each side of the back of the set. Just unscrew them.
The worst part is pulling off the front cover, because you have to pull so hard it feels like you might break it. It feels this way due to a snap located in the middle of the front cover. Once it unsnaps, the cover comes right off.
The Allen wrench that came with the TV didn't fit. No wrench came with the new lamp. I used a wrench of my own. The electrical connection is made into the housing of the lamp. So when you unscrew or screw in the lamp, it automatically makes the electrical connection. Snap on the front cover and tighten the thumb screws, and watch tv. The TV looks brand new!
