Samsung BP96-01653A Lamp |

After three years I noticed that when I started my TV it took about 15 seconds or so for the picture to brighten up. I knew It wouldn't be long before my lamp would go up. So I ordered the bare lamp. This site has great prices and it arrived in less then a week. I ordered two so I would always have one on hand and kept the old as well since it still worked. I would hate to miss a football game over a lamp and now I don't have to worry about it. My TV looks great again. You don't realize how much better your TV looks until you replace an older bulb. This site also provides videos that takes you step by step through the process. So if you are someone who can upgrade a computer or replace a light socket you should not have any trouble replacing your DLP Lamp.

Lamp replacement |

I just replaced my BP96-01653A lamp with 8,300 hours on it. The lamp did not fail, it just got quite dark over the last month of use. Amazing how bright the TV is again. The job is easy, but it is very important to have the wire bracket to hold the lamp enclosure secured properly.

Lamp did its job |

My Samsung tv would not even turn on because my original lamp was toast. I found discount-merchant online and got my lamp a few days later. My tv worked again, and my picture was better than ever. Definitely will use this site again when I need to replace my lamp.

fast Shipping, no hassle. |

At first i was sketchy about this site and didn't know if it was legit because it had some mixed reviews. I was happy with the shipping time and I didn't have to pay a customs fee for the part, thanks to their shipping department. Box was nicely packed with foam. The bulb is working perfectly and holding up i'll have to wait and see if it will last as long as it claims to last. The bulb didn't come with any gloves or the connectors which i found was weird. i had to take the old connectors off my old bulb and attach it to the new one; it still works fine though (would be bad for those people who would throw out the bulb). I received the bulb as described (Phillips). One thing that worried me was when I didn't receive an email about my order and only received an email when it was shipped. The invoice you access through the site still says processing for me, although I already have the item. Overall, I would recommend this site and shop here again.

Cheap and painless |

I must admit, I was a little skeptical about purchasing this lamp from discount merchant. I was worried that I would end up getting a generic bulb, nothing at all, or it would be a pain to replace. That being said....
This was a truly pleasant internet purchase. Everything was as it said, including the part shipping the same day. I paid for overnight service, since I was already saving so much on the lamp itself. Discount got it out as promised. Product recieved was Philips lamp, same as what was in my Samsung DLP. Installation was a BREEZE, and the fixyourdlp.com site was bang on in the how to.
I just installed this last night, so I cannot say how long it will last, but seeings how its the same part that I removed from my TV, then I am confident it will last just as long.
UPDATE: Its 02/03/2010 and the lamp I purchased is still going like a champ!!! About to order another one for back up as my TV is on a minimum of 8 hours a day and averages well over that I am sure.
