Samsung takes the Philips lamp and encloses it in their plastic housing (also known as: the lamp assembly, lamp cage, lamp block, lamp enclosure, lamp housing). The two parts form the BP96-01073A Samsung model number.
Do not purchase a replacement lamp that is not manufactured by Philips. Your TV was designed exclusively for a particular lamp (this lamp) to produce the maximum brightness and vibrate picture you expect. A generic lamp may not give you the same picture as the original.
