I purchased the small bulb w/adapter for my Samsung HLN617W online this morning, went down and picked it up and watched as their tech installed it into my light enclosure that I had brought with me, came home put it back in my TV and it works like a champ. Super friendly folks! Their installation video on You Tube is great. After watching, I really didn't even need to go down there, but since I was close, I did. Highly recommend Direct-Merchant.com and their products.

Perfect solution for older DLPs |

My local service company wanted $350 to replace my lamp. On a previous call, the repair tech said that due to supply issues, they use cheap OEM light bulbs of questionable quality. Considering both of these factors, I decided to buy this one when my lamp gave out after 5 years. It was easy to install and works great! Though the lamp+adapter is low priced, it's not cheap; it's a genuine Phillips bulb. DM shipped it the same day I ordered it, leaving me without my TV for only a day. I recommend this to everyone with an older Samsung.

WOW, these guys know there stuff! I don't know why Samsung doesn't engineer something similar for their older TVs (maybe these guys beat them to it?). Anyway, I am extremely please with the lamp+adapter and commend the boys and girls at this organization...good job!

Whoever invented this was a genius. The lamp adapter came pre-attached to my lamp and I was able to install in under 20 minutes. The support was fantastic. Every time I had a question, I called them. They didn't get sick of my calls, and were even willing to offer me a replacement if this lamp didn't work, but you know what? It worked just fine!!!!! THANKS GUYS
